Ask God that Question.
Hello my people!๐
How are you doing? How is everything?
I love the Lord so much because He knows how to get me. God sees me, knows me, and knows how to get me to always come around, and I am forever yielded to this.
I know I have said this before, but yet again, this is one thing that gives me confidence; That as I strive to be like Christ, leaning on the help of the Holyspirit, I am forever preserved by God till the very end.
The knowledge and the assurance that someway, somehow no matter how it gets, or everything seems, be it hurt or disappointment, there is a balm in Gilead, and I will always come back home to my Father because there is love at home. This love keeps me rooted and routes me back in those moments.
You know if I am talking like this, there is gist, and you are going to learn 1 or 2 from it.
A while ago, I formed this narrative about God, and this was based on the things happening in my surroundings, things I could see.
God had said something prior, and everything in the physical begins to point to a particular direction, and I was thinking this was it that He had said. But I was confused and wondering why He would want me to go in this direction because this wasn't what we agreed. So there was a lot of turmoil.
Based on that, I formed a narrative, drew conclusions, made assumptions, and built a whole house on this. And me being an overthinker didn't help matter at all.
Finally, on one of those days, I was tired of all the whole back and forth. I finally surrendered or so I thought and at that point it came to me that, but you never asked me, you just assumed.
God said; โYou never asked me. You never came back to check if it was me or ask what I thought of it. You saw the signs in the physical, you based your assumptions on it, came up with a conclusion, and decided to run with it.โ
And assumption is not knowledge.
You see, God wants to be our first point of call every.single.time.
God wants us to come to him first with our ideas, thoughts, and questions. God wants us to run everything by Him first, including the questions we have.
This might come in different forms.
When He has given you a word, and it seems things are opening up in the physical, it looks like the confirmation of the word; God still wants us to come back to Him and ask if this is Him before taking the decision.
Or when everything seems to be turning otherwise, before pointing an accusing finger at God and wondering whether God lied to you (remember God can not lie), He wants you to come back to Him and ask.
God might not give you the big picture or the exact answers you want, but God will give you His perspective.
You might not get answers, but you will gain a perspective. God's perspective.
When you don't seem to understand, God wants you to come to him and hear from him. He wants to give us His side of the story.
He doesn't want us siding with the world against Him.
He doesn't want us coming with preconceived ideas or notions. But even when we do have these, He wants us to be willing to lay it down and hear what He says because only then can we see as He sees.
Now I understand when they say we can't question God but can ask him questions.
God is a good father, and He isn't afraid of questions asked in the sincerity of our heart. He is your Father, and you can talk to Him.
Talk to your Father.
He wants to rub minds with us. Trade what we have with what He has. This is how we birth intimacy.
